The goal of tantra is the reintegration of the individual in the pure primordial consciousness (which in Hinduism would be Shivá, the original source). To achieve this objective, it is necessary to travel, in the opposite direction, the path of manifestation. And in the same tradition Śakti, energy, is the vehicle by which individual consciousness unites with pure consciousness or divinity. The end of the way back is known as awakening, a state of "superconsciousness."
